Why should a port subscribe to PORTLOGIC ON-LINE?

Many operations performed by the port require the processing of numerous data: invoicing, organization of services rendered to ships, tracking cargoes or containers, etc. Ports presently face a simple choice:
  • Either they process this information using standard office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Or they purchase large scale specialized port information system.
Both solutions are not satisfactory:
  • Spreadsheets and word processors are not efficient and secure enough to process large volumes of port data.
  • The cost of specialized software package is usually high (licences, maintenance fees, etc.). They require a long term commitment (> 10 years) that not all ports are ready for. More over the implementationr of a new information system requires time. Usually a period of 3 to 6 months is neede to implement a system.
PORTLOGIC ON-LINE offers an alternative solution:
  • PORTLOGIC ON-LINE is a ‘light cost‘ option. A service opening fee will be invoiced at the subscription, then the use of the service will be invoiced monthly. It does not any other expense (licence, equipment, etc.).
  • PORTLOGIC ON-LINE can be launched in a very short period of time. Within 2 weeks after subscription by the port, a database is set up for the port and credentials (passwords) are sent to the port. The port is then ready to process data.
  • PORTLOGIC ON-LINE does not require a long term commitment. After one year of subscription, if the port is not satisfied the service can be interrupted with a single letter.
  • PORTLOGIC ON-LINE is safe. Hosting servers are RAID 5 capable and backups are done daily. As an option, a backup copy of the database can also be shipped weekly or monthly to the port (optional).
Is there any technical requirement for the operation of PORTLOGIC ON-LINE?

A high speed connection to the internet is required. It is recommended to use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher.
